The Holy Grail of Just Another Fool’s Paradise – Teaching and Learning Polish Based on the Callan Method
Abstract
In 2014 and 2015 two experimental courses of Polish as a foreign language were run at Polword – a school of Polish as a foreign language. Pollan is based on the principles of the Callan Method, which has been used successfully in teaching English as a foreign language for many years. It is based on the assumption that students can quickly acquire the basic knowledge and develop fluency using the method of mechanical repetition. Pollan was the first attempt of transposition of the method into any foreign language.
