The oldest Roman calendar of feasts
Abstract
The basic aim of the article is to analyze the heortological contents of the oldest calendar of feasts, commonly known as Chronograph of the year 354. In twenty-three mentions the calendar announces 53 anniversaries of martyrs that are preceded by the liturgical date of Christmas, falling on 25 December. On the broad basis of sources the topographical structure and chronology of the cults of the oldest Roman anniversary of martyrs are presented.
