Abstrakt

Kaznodziejstwo wędrowne może wydawać się przestarzałą formą przepowiadania Ewangelii. Dla wielu kojarzy się przede wszystkim z mówcami żyjącymi w XIX w. Nic bardziej mylnego. Kaznodziejstwo wędrowne jest ciągle aktualną propozycją. Trzeba jedynie odnaleźć nowy „teren”. Przestrzeń, w której mówca spotka się z współczesnym mu słuchaczem. Ten zaś zatrzyma się, choćby na chwilę, aby przyjąć orędzie o Jezusie Chrystusie, który zbawia. Artykuł prezentuje interesującą, ciągle aktualną, metodę głoszenia, którą opracował osiemnastowieczny kaznodzieja George Whitefield. Sięgając do jego tekstów można wydobyć główne cechy jego kaznodziejskiego warsztatu. Koncentruje się on na konkretnej strukturze formalnej kazania oraz odpowiedniej treści, a także na dramatycznym stylu głoszenia. Proponowana przez niego droga jest aktualną podpowiedzią dla dzisiejszych głosicieli słowa Bożego.
