Problemy z ustaleniem statusu historycznej nazwy terenowej

Abstrakt

The paper presents the problem of the proprial status of 18^th-century in the Chełm region. The hitherto research on the theory of proper names seeks to distinguish between a historical microtoponimic unit and appelative form. In establishing the name-forming derivation of the historical field names it is helpful to refer, among other things, to graphic criteria, word-forming and direct notations in which their authors-copyist inform us about microtoponimic formations. In the collection of a few thousand field names one cannot exclude such names which are on the border on appelatives and onims.
