Obraz natury we wczesnośredniowiecznej poezji iryjskiej

  • Ryszarda Bulas

Abstrakt

The author presents three poems and three brief glosses by Irish authors that were written about the 9th-10th centuries. They belong to the group of subjects most frequently used in Ireland (apart from the religious themes). They were written by a Christian monk. They show a particular attitude that the Celt showed towards nature. In a short introduction the author presents the researchers' views of this phenomenon that cannot be compared to anything in the history of literature. The Irish poet's intense, intimate and sensual attitude towards nature is the cause why he „paints” pictures of the world that surrounds him, using light, shadow and colour like a painter. The poetry he creates not only renders the way the world looks, but also the magic, and in it he reveals a profound truth about the world.
