Narodziny koncepcji dzieła metaforycznego w powojennej sztuce polskiej. Lata 1945-1949
Abstrakt
The paper entitled The Birth of the Conception of a Metaphorical Work (the Years 1945-49) is devoted to the discussion of the early programme assumptions made by the artists concentrated in the Cracow Group of Young Artists and in the Art Section of the Club of Young Artists and Scientists in Warsaw in the first post-war years. The views the artists and critics held then on the category of painting metaphor (among others, H. Stażewski, T. Kantor, M. Porębski and others) have laid the so-called metaphorical trend – one of the leading and most vivid tendencies in Polish post-war art (especially in painting). The author draws the conception of metaphorical art which then germinated, within the perspective of the avangarde sources of the idea of plastic metaphor, stemming from the assumptions of French surrealism of A. Breton and T. Peiper's literary Cracow avangarde of the twenty-year interwar period. Post-war metaphorical art, whose artistic sources were in the writings of the twenty-year period, its ideas stemmed from the reflection on the present day, realized the assumption of a kind of symbolism; it was supposed to reflect its time, views, emotions, hopes and fears of the contemporary man. It also became our native variety of the post-surrealistic tendencies in the art of the second half of the 20th century.
