Seks, kłamstwa, sielanka i katastrofa. Kilka uwag o recepcji poezji Józefa Czechowicza

Abstrakt

The article collects and discusses basic tendencies that have been formed in the domain of reception of Józef Czechowicz's literary output. The author of the sketch in a revealing and innovatory way points to a myth-making character of the criticism devoted to the poet's works, and first of all to the limitations they are subjected to. The limitations are connected with the specific character of the work of the author of Ballada z tamtej strony [Ballad from the other side], but also with the biographic legend that surrounds him. Makowski also reveals the basic misunderstandings that for years have accompanied the reading of - especially - the Lublin poet's works. The article is concluded with a postulate to depart from attempts at saying 'everything' about Czechowicz (attempts that usually end up with construing 'bewildering psychological structures') and to return to the „text” (conducting a penetrating and matter-of-fact reading of the texts).
