Discussing verba sentiendi, dicendi and opinandi in Lactantius' Epitome Divinarum Institutionum the paper constitutes a concrete contribution to the knowledge about the writer's language. The latter played a momentous role in the shaping of Christian Latin at the turn of the third and fourth centuries.
