Zagadki samorództwa w pismach Arystotelesa
Abstrakt
Celem artykułu jest podjęcie próby ustosunkowania się do zagadnień obecnych w dyskusji nad Arystotelesowską teorią samorództwa. Do tych zagadnień należą: problem spójności poglądów Stagiryty na zjawisko samorództwa, kwestia umiejscowienia męskiej i żeńskiej „zasady rodzenia” w procesie samorzutnego powstawania organizmów żywych oraz pytanie o obecność w tym procesie przyczyny formalnej. W artykule staram się udowodnić, że: 1) w ustępach poświęconych samorództwu w Corpus Aristotelicum można znaleźć podstawy konsekwentnej i spójnej teorii, 2) na obu etapach, które można wyróżnić w procesie samorzutnego powstawania istot żywych, obie „zasady rodzenia” są ściśle powiązane i współzależne, 3) źródłem formy gatunkowej dla organizmów powstających drogą samorództwa mogą być przekształcone „ruchy” zawarte w wewnętrznym cieple materii organicznej, których pierwotnym źródłem jest organizm, z którego materia ta pochodzi.
