Abstract

The study on the scheme of comparison according to Frantisek Cermak in the writing of Jan Parandowski has shown that there are some non-typical, variants of the comparative that are not found in dictionaries. They have been classified as the following eight groups: descriptive, etymologically linked with comparison, integrated with relative, containing “no” negation, as verbs of speech, as verbs of expression, as verbs pointing to the change of state, and obligatory conjunctives introducing subordinate clauses.

The original variants of the comparative as new means of expression have become a distinct feature of Jan Parandowski's style.
