The Tithe Income of the Sandomierz Collegiate Chapter Prelates in the 15th and 16th Centuries

Abstract

The article is a continuation of the studies of the Sandomierz prelates' land income published in “Roczniki Humanistyczne”, vol.1966. It states what the income was on the basis of Liber beneficiorum by Jan Długosz and Liber retaxationum from 1529, and analyses its position, sometimes in a considerable distance from Sandomierz. It was possible to ascertain that the benefice taxes given in Liber beneficiorum do not constitute 1/3 of the prelates' income, as it has been thought up till now, but only 1/10 of the total sum of their income.
