The Demiurge Carpenter. (On Bolesław Leśmian's Chałupa)
Abstract
Chałupa certainly is a kind of ballad, as it is an unusual story of unusual things; it is also an erotic. But it is above all a vision of creation; this, by the way, in no way conflicts with its qualities as a ballad or as an erotic. The creator carpenter, or demiurge carpenter, sets out to build a new world, or at least to build the world anew.
