Abstract
In the expression „FOR THEY ARE DEAD”, the adjective „DEAD”, which functions as predicate, describes the condition of society and the pronoun „THEY” refers to the author's compatriots, his nearest and dearest, who were never able to understand his work as a poet and an artist.
