Andrzej Kanon and His Poems
Abstract
The paper brings home to us a generally unknown figure of the Jesuit poet, Andrzej Kanon. Nevertheless, an enormous number of his occasional and panegyric works merit our consideration with respect both to their historical content and their great literary culture. Specifically, it is worth noting his collection of lyrical works, patterned after Horace into four books of odes and one of epodes with enclosed poems Lechica admiranda and a group of occasional poems.
