Lucretius' Hymn to Venus
Abstract
The generic difference of the hymn to Venus that is the introduction to Lucretius' poem does not allow either charging the poet with lack of consistency in his presentation of the Epicurean doctrine, or too far-fetched metaphorical interpretations of the work that is one of the most beautiful hymns in Latin literature.
