U3As in China possess distinct school-running characteristics and rich cultural deposits, but the connotative academic level is yet to be raised. In order to achieve sustainable development of U3As, it is required to further strengthen governmental support, increase education coverage, raise the level of theoretical research and internationalization, create an external environment that is looked upon seriously by society, and enhance modernization construction of U3As at all levels.
