The Types of the Counselling Situation

Abstract

The subject-matter of the author’s interest is the counselling situation as a reality which is expressed in the informative and educative, communicative and social processes which occur in the counselling situation. The latter calls for a formation, hence the counsellor may be defined as a „professional constructor”.

The basic trait of the counselling interaction is cooperation. Only this kind of interaction is positive and effective. It is being set in opposition to competition and strife for one’s own vision of a situation or aid programme, as well as to various forms of the „purchase of friendship”.

In her analyses the author makes use of the categories of symbolic interactionism.
