The Pedagogic Activities of Wanda Szuman
Abstract
Wanda Szuman has so far been too little noticed in historical studies of child care. She made important contributions to the theory and practice of care and education, especially in such areas as the care and education of children with no family, education of blind children, stimulating artistic creation in the disabled and education of social workers. Her achievements in the pedagogy of care consisted first of all in the design and implementation of a system for placing orphans in foster families.
