The Importance of Numbers in Paulus Orosius' History
Abstract
The paper points out a minute detail of a conscious and purposeful use of numbers by Paulus Orosius in his History. Orosius gave them a definite function in the composition of the work. By putting together events and numbers Orosius revealed the basic assumption of his work, namely that the only judge of all times and places is God.
