Abstrakt

A lot of thinkers today discern a need to join Christian experience with the lived experience and understanding of the Old Testament. It can be noticed also in dramatic works and theatrical actions. Observing some productions inspired by the Bible − those of the 1980s and from the beginning of the 1990s in region of Silesia and Cracow, the authoress poses a question. She asks to what extent does the artistic and aesthetic form in which the choice of the spiritual legacy of the Bible is revealed makes the testimony of our times. And whether the Bible in view of the contemporary generation has the power to read out the sense of the world, protecting it effectively from destruction.
