The Dictionary of Rhymes by Konstancja Benisławska

Abstract

The author depicts here the list of rhymes and rhymed words from the volume of Konstancja Benisławska poems entitled Pieśni sobie śpiewane (Songs Sung to Oneself) which was printed in 1776. All rhymes in this volume are feminine (the words with the stress on the last but one syllable rhyme with one another). Almost all „songs” consist of four-verse stanzas with the rhyme scheme aabb. Only four of them have the rhyme scheme abab (in one of them there are six-verse stanzas with rhymes ababcc). The dictionary was written before 1961.
