Efekt placebo: fakt czy artefakt?
Abstrakt
Od momentu opublikowania w 1955 r. artykułu H. K. Bccchcra pt. The powetful placebo przez ponad 40 lat powszechne było przekonanie o istnieniu i ogromnej sile efektu placebo. Przełom XX i XXI wieku przyniósł jednak publikacje kwestionujące nic tylko siłę efektu placebo, ale nawet jego istnienie. Zapoczątkowały one ożywioną dyskusję na temat realności i siły efektu placebo. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest próba podsumowania toczącej się przez 10 lat debaty wśród badaczy placebo, a w rezultacie znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy efekt placebo istnieje, a jeśli tak, to czy jest on wystarczająco silny, by mieć jakiekolwiek znaczenie kliniczne.
