On the „Negative” Characters in Norwid's Plays

Abstract

This handful of very general reflections does not close the matter. My only aim has been to bring up a few problems that deserve closer scrutiny. They concern the choice of characters, their mutual relations, their dramatic functions, their language and the rich system of communication signals connected with those points. Another such problem involves the presentation of contexts that are indispensable to justifying more specific conclusions and to producing a synthesis of the poet's ‟anthropology”.
