Norwid’s death certificate - an unknown document

Abstract

In 2002 Andrzej Szczerba found Cyprian Norwid’s original death certificate in the record office of the XIII quarter of Paris and he published it on the web portal Genealodzy.pl. Up till now a copy of the certificate quoted by Gomulicki in his Complete Writings was the basis for all considerations. The author discusses the reasons why the original was not looked for, he quotes its contents and gives its photo copy, as well as compares it with the generally known version.
