Abstrakt

Churches and other religious associations perform their mission in the contemporary world under the conditions of religious, cultural and political pluralism.

The basic rule that is observed in the Polish religious law is the principle of equal rights enjoyed by Churches and other religious associations.

15 Churches and religious associations of the ones that are active on the territory of the Republic of Poland have their relations with the State regulated by acts. Among the acts, 10 ones contain guarantees of the use of the Church’s (religious association’s) own and/or public radio and television in performing their mission.

The remaining Churches and religious associations (155 ones) use the guarantees contained in the Act on Guarantees of Religious Freedom.

The Churches and other religious associations use their own radio and television on the basis that is defined in the Act on Radio and Television. Local radios connected with other Christian denominations than the Catholic one are poorly developed in Poland. The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiTV) issued only one concession for the Orthodox Radio Orthodoxia.

Other initiatives launched in the recent years by Christian circles were not successful, first of all because of lack of financial means.

Polish Radio JSC broadcasts programs prepared by Churches and religious associations on the basis of agreements with particular Churches and religious associations.
