Towards a Psychotherapy "with a Human Face": Logotherapy and Nootherapy

Abstract

The author depicts in general outlines the genesis and development of the Third Branch of Vienna Psychotherapy called Logotherapy. The founder of the latter was V.E. Frankl.

Nootherapy is a variation of Logotherapy and develops the problems of sense and value as personality conditioned. The logotheoretical conception of motivation has been dealt with more at length. The author has pinpointed the temporal and dimensional character of being and becoming of human existence. He has pointed to existential and cognitive interpretation of human being and becoming (= AE-P). The author emphasizes the usefulness of the concepts of logotherapy and nootherapy in its existential and cognitive interpretation, and that both of te activity of human existence and in various branches of psychological support, prevention and psychology of health.
