Abstrakt

In its plan of climatic package the European Commission has suggested that from 2013 power stations will have to buy 100% permits for CO2 emission to the atmosphere on the Union market for trading emissions.

Companies that have the rights to emit carbon dioxide have to carry out a lot of duties, which in a natural way causes an increase in the cost of their functioning. The duties that have to be carried out by the subject participating in the system of trading the rights for emission result from the formal and legal requirements imposed on these enterprises.

The companies also have to implement the structures and processes that will make it possible to manage the rights they possess as well as to carry out purchase or sale transactions. Such structures surely will have to take into consideration a lot of areas where the company functions: from the question of environmental protection, through financial issues, to the area of planning investments.
