Abstract
This paper is dedicated to two brothers and priests Oblates of the Immaculate Lady Wilhelm and Karol Kubsz. Wilhelm Kubsz is well-known in Polish historiography as the first chaplain of the Tadeusz Kościuszko Division and the Principal Deacon of the First Polish Army; the second brother usually remained outside the scope of historians’ interest, although he was vitally committed to pastoral care for Poles in France during the Second World War and in the post-war years. They are both presented in the light of the most important evewnts in their lifetime, especially in the years 1939-1945. This paper focuses mainlly on their service for Poles abroad, including excerpts from private correspondence that has been little studied so far. The indirect goal of the present publication is to attract attention on the prominent figure of Karol Kubsz, so exceptional due to his practical accomplishments and personal spirituality.
