Abstract

The author presents the Alliance of Poles in Canada, its origin, aims and functions. The Alliance was founded to serve the aim of mutual aid and protect its members from discrimination in the Anglo-Saxon world. Soon, however, the organization turned toward maintaining the Polish culture with the simultaneous full participation in the life and culture of Canada. Senator Stanislaw Hajdasz and a few other distinguished persons emerged from the Alliance.
