Abstract

The article points to a wide range of possible work of Polish-American organizations. The author bases his remark on a small community of 15 thousand Polish-Americans in Bridgeport (USA). The Polish-American organizations there founded a grant for Polish-American students, organized the department of the Polish language and culture at the Ideal university, delivered a number of lectures on Poland etc. Their success follows mainly from close contacts with the local universities and from the priority given to the English language in everyday work.
