The Final Resolution of the First World Congress of Pastoral Care of Migrants

Abstract

The Resolution is a final document of the Congress that gathered in Rome in March 12-17, 1979. Its five separate parts discuss: the present situation of migrants, the role of the local Churches towards migrants, the tasks of the people engaged in the migrant pastoral care, the role of scholarly institutes and the Papal Commission for the Migrant Pastoral Care. Besides, there is the Congress Proclamation attached to the document calling for respect to the rights of migrants and refugees.
