The Influence of Epilepsies on a Serious Failure of Evaluative Discernment
Abstract
Although epilepsies does not automatically cause a serious failure in evaluative discernment as regards essential marital rights and duties that are mutually transmitted and accepted, nevertheless this disease may affect psyche and, in consequence, considerably affect our ability to put into practice the marital covenant. This perception is supported by the findings of psychiatric dn psychological research, and by church trials. It seems indispensable to describe a concrete disease in an accurate manner in order to learn its influence in a given case on the use of reason or evaluative discernment. Only the analysis of each case will allow a judge to make a right decision.
